Located just over 150 miles from Fort Collins you’ll find Vail, CO, where you’ll experience some of the most beautiful ski country Colorado has to see!

Vail Ski Resort, the largest single ski resort in the United States, has over 5,000 acres of skiing territory for you to explore.  This place has it all, everything from daily groomed runs, a Kid’s Adventure Zone, and three terrain parks (one of which has a 22ft half pipe), and that’s just the Front Side.  If you’re not satisfied with all of that, then check out their famous Back Bowls, where you’ll have some breathtaking views of the Vail valley in all its snowy glory.  Wait, there’s more!  If you’re feeling up for a little more trek to the Blue Sky Basin, home to Pete’s and Earl’s Bowls (named after the founders, Pete Seibert and Earl Eaton).  All of that should keep you busy for a day, at least!

There’s plenty more for you to do and see when you’re not out on the slopes, so don’t spend all your energy while on the side of the mountain.  Three different base areas, Lionshead, Vail Village, and Golden Peak, offer great shopping and a variety of dining options like, Yama Sushi and Sweet Basil.  Pedestrian friendly sidewalks make getting from one place to another a cinch.  With so much to see and do, taking a stroll with the friends and family is a great way to start or finish your day.  If your legs are beat don’t fret, all three are connected by a free bus system, allowing you to get from one end to the other with ease.

If you’re looking to stay the night (or two or three) there are plenty of lodging options out there.  Vail.com is a one stop shop for all your lodging needs.  With six main areas offering up condominiums, single family housing, first class hotel accommodations and 5-star elegance, we’re sure you can find something that fits your budget and your needs.  And not to worry, there are plenty of ski in and ski out spots that take the pain of transportation out of the mix.

Vail’s Snowdaze are coming up on December 9th – 15th, a week of live entertainment with the likes of MiM0SA, Rebelution and Matisyahu, and plenty of après ski parties.  Followed by their Holidaze on December 20th – 22nd, you can catch world-champion ice skaters and their annual tree lighting ceremony.  For more information visit Vail.com.  Opening day was November 22nd, so get out there and hit the slopes already!
