Established in 1972, Outpost Sunsport began as a small, locally owned backpacking and mountaineering shop in Fort Collins, Colorado. From the beginning, one thing has remained constant: our deep love for the outdoors.
In 1983, Outpost evolved into a specialty downhill ski shop, expanding further in 1985 to include snowboarding. Over the years, we’ve worked hard to become one of northern Colorado’s premier ski and snowboard retailers. Our dedication to quality and service has earned us national recognition, including the SnowSports Industries of America Ski Retailer of the Year for the Rocky Mountains.
While our offerings have grown to include premium patio furniture during the summer months, our commitment to outstanding customer service and community support has remained the same. We’re proud to give back to the place we call home, supporting organizations such as Poudre School District, Colorado State University, Foothills Gateway, Respite Care, The Gardens on Spring Creek, Colorado Open Lands, and many more throughout northern Colorado and Larimer County.

Since joining the Outpost team in 2006, Matt has embraced the Colorado lifestyle to the fullest. A true mountain enthusiast, he’s always up for swapping ski stories, chasing fresh powder, or rallying the crew for the next adventure.
When he’s not at the shop, you’ll find Matt mountain biking, backcountry skiing, exploring the lakes, or 4-wheeling. Whether he’s chasing turns at Cameron Pass or ripping trails around Fort Collins, Matt is happiest when he’s outside and exploring.
Outpost Sunsport has been lucky to have Eli on the team since 2016! She appreciates the family feel and comradery that comes with working for a local business. Eli enjoys visiting Keystone, with its magnificent beauty and great trails. Eli enjoys hiking, biking, having a glass of wine on a patio and vacations. She is the proud mom of two grown sons, and spending time with them is always special.
Trevor, a Fort Collins native, joined the Outpost team in 2017. He grew up exploring the Rocky Mountains on skis and snowboards in the winter and backpacking and fishing in the summer. Currently, he rides Capita and Rossignol snowboards, Union bindings, and Salomon boots. His mountain of choice is Steamboat. During his free time, Trevor doubles as a photographer. With a degree in horticulture and passion for exploring new landscapes, Trevor can often be found exploring new outdoor landscapes with his camera in hand and his wife and border collies, Emery and Jaxson, by his side. Carter has been with the Outpost team since 2018, and he loves the laid back environment and his awesome coworkers! Carter is an avid skier and loves hitting the slopes in Steamboat. During the summertime, you might catch Carter rock climbing, fishing, or enjoying Horsetooth Reservoir – or else kicking back with a cold Odell IPA. If you’re looking for great local cuisine, Carter’s pick would be Domenics. Carter’s ideal three-day weekend in the winter would be spent in a remote cabin in the backcountry of Jackson Hole!
