Winter season is heating up! This year is said to be a snowy one so it’s time to dust off your ski and snowboard gear. If you realize you’re missing something or want to buy new, stop in for Outpost Sunsport’s Annual Swap Sale!

From October 5-10, come take advantage of the two-part sale at Outpost’s location at 931 E. Harmony Rd. First, on October 5-8, bring in your gently used gear like skis, snowboards, boots, poles, and winter apparel to Outpost. There is a $3 cost for each item you bring in. These items will then be sold in the swap sale. Equipment and apparel for trade-in must be in clean, working order and all bindings must meet DIN standards. Items such as straight skis, rear entry boots, gloves, goggles, or helmets will not be accepted.

October 9-10, anyone can come by Outpost to buy these items at discounted prices regardless of if they donated items or not. For items sold, donors can either receive 100% of the selling price in store credit or 50% of selling price in payment. All unsold items must be picked up by October 15 or they will be donated.

“Each year the event has grown,” said owner of Outpost Sunsport, Randy Morgan. “It’s just a nice community event where folks can bring in their used ski and snowboard equipment and apparel and have it sold to those looking specifically for these items.”

There will also be representatives from Loveland Ski Area and Snowy Range selling season tickets and sharing more about the resorts’ exciting plans for the season. A representative from IKON will also be there only on Saturday, October 9. Not only is this a great opportunity to sell gear, but a portion of the entry fee for items contributed to the sale will be donated to Respite Care of Fort Collins.

Respite Care is a non-profit organization that provides support and resources for children with developmental disabilities with “short term, quality care for the children, respite to the families, and enhanced quality of life for the entire family.” In the last year, they have served 139 families through 42,778 hours of childcare and 3,571 hours of volunteer help. Their team of childcare specialists, administrators, board members, and volunteers strive to ensure that Respite Care is a place where children feel welcomed, accepted, and at home.
