ABasin, perfect for late season turns

Located in Summit County, Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort is home to some of this highest skiable terrain in North America.  And at 67 years old, this resort seems to keep getting better with age!

Receiving an average of 350 inches of that glorious white stuff every year, you’ll fall in love once you get there, if you haven’t already.  Opening in October and typically keeping their lifts running in to early summer, A Basin offers well over a half a year of skiing and riding.  Six chairlifts and two conveyor lifts will get you exploring the 109 different trails across their 960 acres of skiable terrain.

A Basin has it all, with trails and runs perfect for beginners and those experts looking to tackle the tougher terrain.  Half of their acreage is above timberline and offers great open bowls and backcountry skiing for months on end.  If you are up to the challenge, and we mean experience wise, you should check out their notorious Pallavicini run, one of the steepest and longest trails in Colorado.

Needing a bite to eat or just a breather from your runs, there are plenty of options for you on the mountain.  Stop by Legends Café at the base of the hill for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and enjoy your meal inside or out.  You’ll also find Black Mountain Lodge and The Sixth Alley Bar and Grille on the mountain.  You can enjoy bistro style food and après-ski libations, or one of their highly touted Bloody Mary’s, with your friends and family after a great day on the slopes.

While there is no lodging at the base of the resort, there are plenty of options in the surrounding towns such as Keystone and Dillon.  A shuttle service, the Summit Stage, is available from all surrounding towns and resorts in the Summit County area, making getting to and from the resort a breeze.
