Early Bird Patio Furniture Sale Benefiting Bird Conservancy of the Rockies From now through March 15
We are fortunate to live in an area where birds are abundant and a part of our region’s beautiful, picturesque landscape. The Bird Conservancy of the Rockies works diligently to support nature’s beauty with their mission to protect and preserve birds and their habitats through an integrated approach of science, education and land stewardship. The organization hosts many programs in Colorado and beyond that help children and adults develop an awareness and respect for wildlife and their habitats. Their work radiates from the Rockies to the Great Plains, to Mexico and beyond.
Unfortunately, bird populations in the U.S. are experiencing major declines, signaling a widespread ecological crisis. Studies are showing tremendous losses across different categories of birds and habitats, from iconic songsters such as meadowlarks to long-distance migrants such as swallows. And for the first time, severe losses among even common birds are being discovered across all habitats, including backyard birds. More research is needed on the cause of the declines, but guesses are urbanization, agricultural intensification and climate change, which can alter habitats, may be significant factors.
The work of the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies is more important than ever! But they can’t do it alone. As advocates of the great outdoors and admirers of all its creatures, we are doing what we can to support their mission and we hope you will too!
