Outpost Sunsport is home to the greatest employees around. One of which is Andrea, who has been on the Outpost Sunspot team for ten years, and loves being a part of a family-oriented business. As an avid skier, snowboarder, and patio lounger, she imparts her “work hard + play hard = relax hard” philosophy to each customer she meets.
Andrea enjoys a full range of hobbies – running, golfing, playing tennis, mountain biking, and anything involving snow. We asked Andrea a few questions about her ski season routines – read on to hear what she had to say!
Fun Fact: Steamboat Springs – celebrating its 60th anniversary this year – is also known as “Ski Town, U.S.A.,” and it’s home to more Olympians than any other town in the entire country! The cover of Sports Illustrated Magazine has featured three Steamboat Olympians – Buddy Werner, Skeeter Werner Walker, and Billy Kidd.
Fun Fact: Buddy Werner became the first American to ever win a downhill ski event at the renowned Holmenkollen Ski Festival in Norway (way back in 1954!). He was only 16 years old at the time!
Fun Fact: Did you know that Colorado’s ski industry generates nearly $5 billion annually in economic output? Studies show that the industry supports more than 46,000 jobs in our state.
Fun Fact: Research shows that skiers should eat no less than three full meals and four snacks per day while on the slopes! Skiing requires a lot of fuel – be sure to plan ahead and pack good snacks for your next trip to the mountain!
Fun Fact: Do you know how Strawberry Park got its name? In the early 1900’s, the strawberry business was flourishing in the beautiful town of Steamboat Springs. In 1900, a man named Lester Remington developed the famous “Remington Berry”-- a berry so successful it caused Steamboat’s strawberry business to boom! Strawberry Park lies on parts of land which once belonged to Mr. Remington himself.
