Put a lid on it!

December 31, 2014

As the season picks up, and you and many others take to the slopes, it becomes important to remember to protect yourself from potential injury.

Falling down and getting back up is common practice for both new and experienced skiers and snowboarders. With that being said, wearing a helmet is one of the most important things you can do to help keep you getting back up on your board or skis after you take a spill. And you can’t use the excuses that they are “too heavy”, “too hot”, or “look ugly”

Over recent years helmet technology has seen great improvements in all areas. Comfort and style have emerged as one, and wearing a helmet has now become “cool” among a large majority of those that take to the slopes. Technology has improved, offering more protection and better ventilation, all with less weight. With no sign of skiers and snowboarders slowing down or taking it easy any time soon, experts continue to study and create innovative technology to keep us all safe while we play in the white stuff.

Here at Outpost we have one of the widest selections of helmets Northern Colorado has to offer, carrying brands like POC, Anon and more.   Our selection includes a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors for kids and adults, making it easy to find the right one to protect your brain. There are event helmets with Beats By Dre headphones in them if you’re one that likes to listen to music while you’re riding. And if you’re not sure what you’re looking for, our staff is here to answer all your questions that you might have.

Though we can’t force anyone to wear a helmet, we highly recommend that everyone put a lid on their head before heading out for the lifts!
