What to do when it’s Spring Break, but spring weather is nowhere in sight? Get outside to ski, snowboard or snowshoe!
NOAA (or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) has officially declared the 2018-2019 winter season the wettest on record for the lower 48. What does this mean? Resist the urge to head to the beach for Spring Break because you don’t want to miss out on a winter to be remembered.
Whether you are rockin’ the Ikon Pass or Epic Pass, your destination options are nearly endless. But for our northern Colorado skiers who are looking to stay in Colorado to ski or snowboard, here are destination suggestions for you:
Ikon Pass Holders – Head to Aspen! It is a bit of a drive to get there, but always worth it. Aspen Snowmass is accessible to all skier levels. Tucked away in the White River National Forest, the Aspen area makes for breathtaking views and excellent snowfall. After the ski day, venture into downtown Aspen to catch a local brew, live music and delectable bites!
Epic Pass Holders – Head to Abasin! It’s sad, but true. This will be the last season that Arapahoe Basin Ski & Snowboard Area (Abasin) will be included on the Epic Pass. So, for all of you diehard Epic Pass holders, soak up your small-mountain vibes before the season comes to an end. This season’s deep snow pack will make for dreamy skiing on the East Wall. Be sure to check out the new terrain off The Beavers & The Steep Gullies which includes 34 new runs. And don’t forget to cap your day off with a beer at the 6th Alley Bar & Grill!
