As a retailer that encourages the community to get outside, we do our best to find ways to help make it accessible for everyone to enjoy the outdoors. Outsport Sunsport recently had the opportunity to donate over 70 pairs of Lift 23 premium ski/snow socks to the Shining Stars kids participating in this year’s Aspen Winter Games.

The Shining Stars Foundation serves children with cancer, meeting needs not addressed by medical treatments, mainly the significant emotional, social, and psychological toll that cancer takes on the entire family.

“Lift 23 and Outpost Sunsport’s generous donation of socks for all of our kids is a huge help. Many of these kids have never skied or even seen snow, so having outdoor gear is critical. Thank you for making this possible!” – Shining Stars Foundation

The Aspen Winter Games Program is an 8-day adaptive snowboard and ski recreation program held every year for children living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Over 200 participants, including children, their medical team, instructors, and volunteers, are taken to the slopes in Aspen and given everything they need to ski or ride, including lift tickets, gear, lodging, meals, transportation, and one-on-one adaptive lessons.

“Our mission is to serve kids in need,” states Lift 23 Founder Ed Del Guercio. “We are grateful for this opportunity to partner with Outpost Sunsport and provide support to kids from all over the country for an event with such great impact.”

“My life has been changed,” reported Shining Star Evan, a past Shining Star participant. “I have hope and that makes a huge difference in how I feel when I wake up each morning. Now I want to live all day, every day.”

“We are pleased to be able to participate in some way to such a great organization and inspirational event,” said Randy Morgan, owner of Outpost Sunsport.
